Wilson Blade V9

WILSON BLADE V9

In early 2024 Wilson Launched the Blade V9. This is the most used racket by professional players. This racket was an important launch for Wilson tennis because it was the first launch in a new aesthetic direction. Future launches for Wilson tennis rackets will pull similar motifs and details from the work done on the Blade V9. For this project I led the graphic, industrial and CMF design.

Emerald Green

I worked closely with our manufacturers to create this custom paint. It is a matte green that features a heavy metallic finish. This level of subtle detail in the paint adds depth and interest with a retro modern feel that resonates strongly with high end tennis players.

Click & Go Bumper and Grommet System

Bumper and grommets are notoriously difficult to remove on rackets. High end players who use the Blade change their bumpers more than any other players. This new system makes the B&G significantly faster and easier to remove when damaged or for weight customization with lead tape. This B&G also has a unique aesthetic that adds a distinctive color pop to the sides of the frame.

Graphic Design Direction

The additional kerning of the Blade logo creates a subtle, yet ownable, style that is a distinct departure from previous branding on Wilson rackets. A small W added to the sides of the Wilson logo creates another distinctive pop and is a callback to the classic red Wilson W.

The Most Trusted Racket of Professionals

Building on nearly 20 years of dominance, Wilson's Blade performance rackets continue to be the preferred choice of professionals and avid competitors looking for ultimate control, feel and stability.
